The Potter’s Hand
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying:
“Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.”
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord.
“Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!”
Jeremiah 18:1-6
When I was a child, a family member shared a Hillsong Worship DVD with my family (if I remember correctly). I would put this on and sing to the Lord. I was truly marked when Darlene Zschech would minister to the Lord. I remember experiencing the something special in our living room in an apartment in Downtown Toronto when I would sing these songs and have this worship album playing. I know now it was the presence of the God. I actually did not remember these moments until recently. This is one of the songs I would sing as a prayer to Him. Today, I find myself singing these words to The Potter, with perhaps a bit more understanding than I did all those years ago. It is good to be in Your Hands.
May this always be our prayer:
Beautiful Lord, Wonderful Saviour
I know for sure, all of my days are held in Your hands, crafted into Your perfect plan
You gently call me into Your presence, guiding me by Your Holy Spirit
Teach me dear Lord to live all of my life through Your eyes
I’m captured by Your holy calling
Set me apart, I know You’re drawing me to Yourself
Lead me Lord I pray
Take me, mould me, use me, fill me
I give my life to The Potter’s Hand
Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to The Potter’s Hand
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
